Cllr. Rachael Hatchett

Cllr Hatchett is the County Councillor on Derbyshire County Council representing the Parish as part of the Alport & Duffield County Division. The County Council has primary responsibility for Highways, Adult Social Care, Children and Young People and Strategic Planning Matters.

Biography:

“I was delighted to be elected to represent the Alport & Duffield division on Derbyshire County Council in May 2025. I come from a local farming family and have lived in Alderwasley parish for over 35 years. I’m married to Dave, who is now retired from a long career at Rolls-Royce, and we have two grown-up children who went through school in Duffield. My own working life included business administration and project management in both the private and public sectors. I have also been a school governor and a foster carer.

Alongside being a member of the Green Party and pushing the county council to do more to address the causes and impacts of the climate and nature crises, my main aim, as your county councillor, is to act as an intermediary with council officers in order to get done the things which make a positive difference to your life. I do my best to attend parish council meetings where I can keep up to date with local issues, and I’m always pleased to hear from you directly either by email or by phone.
