Cllr Mike Westbrooke

Cllr Westbrooke is the Vice-Chairman of Idridgehay, Alton and Ashleyhay Parish Council, having assumed the position in May 2026.

As a Parish Councillor, Cllr Westbrooke, alongside the other members of the Council, is responsible for overseeing the finances, governance and effective administration of the Parish Council. The Council also has responsibility for a range of local assets and services, including the maintenance of public land within the Parish, defibrillators, speed indicator devices and public notice boards.

The Parish Council is the most local tier of government and is often the most accessible to residents, providing a direct link between the community and other levels of local government.

Although the Parish Council is not the local planning authority, it is a statutory consultee on planning applications within the Parish. As the body responsible for developing the adopted Neighbourhood Plan, the Council also has an important role in representing local priorities and influencing the planning process within the Parish.
